5 Rules for Long-Lasting Makeup

Article: Sania Arshad

We all do makeup on a daily basis but most of us end up having it all evaporated from places in a few hours. Getting a flawless look is not totally impossible today but making it last for hours without budging is the real challenge. However, it sure is possible to achieve a more long-lasting makeup look too.

All you need are a few tips and tricks to add to your makeup routine and you are good to go. Want to know what those tips are? If yes, keep reading till the end. I am about to reveal the 6 rules for achieving long-lasting makeup.

Moisturize the Skin Well

Never ever skip this step as it is essential if you want your makeup to appear flawless and stay in place for hours like a part of your skin. There may be a little dead skin on your skin that needs to be shed and your skin needs more moisture before you start your makeup. If you directly apply a foundation without moisturizing properly, the skin can turn into flakes and the makeup may accumulate into places. Therefore, make sure you are using a moisturizing formula that is hydrating enough for your skin type.

Use Blotting Papers

If you feel like your skin turns too oily and you end up applying more powder on it, which makes the makeup worse and appears too cakey as well. Instead, rather than using powder every time, just dab the blotting paper on to your oily areas and it will absorb all the oil without leaving your makeup out of place.

Use Powder Forms Rather Than Creams

This rule applies for both highlighter and blush-on. Creamy formulas are definitely good for dry to normal skin. However, if you want your makeup to last longer without getting removed from places, use the powder highlighter and blush.

Use a Lip Tint under Your Lipstick

This one is a really nice tip for all the girls who usually end up eating off all their lipstick. Fret not! All you need to do is get a nice pink-toned lip stain or tint as they are very hydrating, lightweight and long-lasting. Apply a coat of it on your lips before you wear your lip liner and lipstick or lip-gloss. This way, even when your lipstick goes out of place, your tint will make your lips look all smooth with a nice hue.

Blend with Fingers

I prefer blending my foundation with fingers on a daily basis as it leaves your skin with a nice and natural finish. Plus, it gets more absorbed into the skin well and does not go out of place for hours. With sponge and brushes, the foundation may look dewy and flawless when you apply it but easily budges after a while.
